Universitatea de stiinte agricole si medicina veterinara a Banatului
Banat’s University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine “King Michael I of Romania” from Timisoara (USAMVBT) is a public institution for higher education and research located in SW Romania, in Banat region, established in 1945. University mission is generating and transferring knowledge toward the whole society in fields of life sciences. Scientific research, development and innovation activities are the main interest of the teaching and research staff of our university and are performed in research and excellence institutes and centres, departments, groups or in research and academic extension units. The university is open to European and international research, a fact reflected by the university research strategy, which is correlated with the Research Strategy from Lisbon, 2007. The university is an EFSA (European Food Safety Authority) member, has accredited research laboratories, which allows us to participate in national and international contests for accessing new research projects.
Two members of the Faculty of Bioengineering in Animal Resources are involved in SMARTER, working in close relationship with sheep and goat professional organisations in the country.
